Mt. Pleasant TN is in the heart of TN Plantation country
& it is the ancestral home of James K Polk, the 11th president of the US. There are several of the family Plantations still standing and some are open for tours.

Mt. Pleasant was a major phosphate mining town from the late 1800's
until the late 1960's. The town has a quaint square with a monument to the confederate soldier and there is a museum right on the square.
You will experience the feel of the small town, rural South of yesteryear while enjoying modern necessities.
The city of Columbia the county seat of Maury County is just 10 miles north and is also rich in history including that of the
Civil War. Columbia also boasts many fine old historic homes including the "in town" home of James K. Polk.
